The Andover/North Andover YMCA Synchronized Swim Team (ANA Synchro) is starting the season off strong with a win at the 2019 New England Synchronized Swimming Association (NESSA) North & South Junior & Senior Championships and 13-15 Age Group Invitational. The team came home from the competition with the NESSA JR/SR High Point trophy. In all, ANA Synchro had one Senior athlete, sixteen Junior athletes and twelve 13-15 Age Group athletes attend this competition. The competition, which took place on Sunday, January 27th, was the first meet of the 2019 competitive season. ANA Head Coach Leah Pinette says the team is off to a great start.
“The athletes have been working very hard this season to get their new routines ready for this meet,” said Pinette. “We have fourteen routines with new choreography and I am very proud of the team for pulling all these routines together so early in the season. I am excited to see what they will do at zone and national championships later this year.”
Six teams from Massachusetts and New Hampshire competed in the event, which was held at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. ANA Synchro’s next competitions will take place in New Canaan, CT on Feb 8-10 for the zone level championship for all 13-15 Age Group teams. The team’s Junior and Senior athletes will be traveling to Buffalo, NY on March 8-10 for the Junior/Senior Zone level championship.
The team’s talents will also be on display at their Annual Synchro Show on Saturday, April 27th at 3:00pm and 6:00pm and Sunday, April 28th, 1:00pm and 4:00pm at the Andover/North Andover YMCA. More information on our Annual Show can be found here.
