Benoit started synchronized swimming (now referred to as Artistic Swimming) at the age of 7. He climbed up the ranks in France to a become a national champion by the age of 17. After securing his top placement in France, he moved to California to swim with the Santa Clara Aquamaids, the top program in the United States. He considers that since he was one of the first male synchronized swimmers in the sport, it has given him many opportunities and opened doors he never thought possible. 

 

Benoit’s resume includes:

•Part of the original cast of Cirque du Soleil’s "O" and "Le Reve The Dream" in Las Vegas

•Professional synchronized swimmer for the past 21 years

•Featured in many TV shows including:

"The Tonight Show"

"Dancing with the Stars"

"America’s Got Talent"

"The Latin Grammys"

"The Ellen show"

 

Benoit was the first male synchronized swimmer to compete for France in the Mixed Duet event. In 2015, men were were finally allowed to compete at the World Championships. His current role is working on the Avatar sequels as an underwater stunt performer.

 

Clinic Cost: $25

 

Explore the fun of synchronized swimming both on land and in the water. Learn new skills as well as acrobatic moves. You’ll have the opportunity to cross train in the water for other sports and activites. Enjoy learning about a new World Championship event – the mixed duet.

 

Calling all brothers, friends, male dancers, gymnasts and athletes who would like to check out a new sport that’s athletic, creative, pushes you to develop new skills, create new friends, and even compete at the national and international levels.

 

What to bring:
Athletic attire and sneakers for the land portion, swim suit and goggles for the pool.
